He spent the next year with the Cedar Rapids Kernels and led the club with a .289 batting average. He began 2003 with the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes and hit .321 with 72 RBIs before being promoted to the Arkansas Travelers. With Arkansas, he continued to show his offensive prowess, hitting .345 in 29 games. In 2005, Gorneault clubbed 26 homers for Salt Lake and led the Pacific Coast League with 108 RBIs but did not earn a call-up to the majors. Returning to AAA in 2006, his numbers dropped off a bit to 15 home runs and 78 RBIs, and he spent time on the disabled list. He began 2007 back at Salt Lake but was promoted to the Los Angeles Angels in late June. He went hitless in two games for the Angels, but walked once and scored one run before being returned to Salt Lake.
Gorneault, who has hit more than 130 minor league home runs, played for Round Rock in the PCL in 2008.
