The New Britain Red Sox were the Boston Red Sox farm club in the AA Eastern League beginning in 1983 when the Bristol Red Sox relocated to Beehive Field in New Britain, Connecticut. Led by pitcher Roger Clemens, the team won a league title in its first year. Their affiliation with the Red Sox ended after the 1994 season, and the club became known as the Hardware City Rock Cats the following year.
