Nelson Greene was at Lehigh University and Villanova University from 1919-23 and then came to the majors in 1924-25.
He had started his professional career in 1921, and in 1923 went 19-11 for Richmond. He won 13 games for Des Moines in each of 1927-28. Later, he spent parts of three years with Reading.
