Neil Adonis was South Africa's main designated hitter in the 2000 Olympics, going 0 for 8 with four strikeouts. He never represented South Africa as a player in a Baseball World Cup. He later became a coach for the South African national team, performing that role in the 2005 Baseball World Cup, 2007 Baseball World Cup, 2008 Final Olympic Qualification Tournament, 2009 World Baseball Classic and 2009 Baseball World Cup.
