Nashville Elite Giants
From BR Bullpen
A power in southern black baseball, the Nashville Elite Giants began playing northern teams in 1928. In 1930 they joined the Negro National League, moved to Cleveland, OH as the Cleveland Cubs in 1931, played in the south in 1932, then returned to the big time in '33. Despite the presence of talented players like Wild Bill Wright and Sammy T. Hughes, the team was only about average. They left Nashville in 1935 to become the Columbus Elite Giants. They were owned by Tom Wilson.
