Brother of Jewel Ens, Mutz Ens broke into the major ten years before his brother. Along with Mutz Ens, other rookies on the 1912 Chicago White Sox included Buck Weaver, Jack Fournier, and Ray Schalk.
In 1911 he made a claim for payment of unpaid wages (11 days) by the Galesburg club. The Commissioners agreed and order the club to pay him.
