[edit] Biographical Information
Merton Merrill "Moxie" Meixell played in the majors in July 1912 for the 1912 Cleveland Naps. As a batter he went 1-for-2.
Meixell was an outfielder, trying to succeed on a team that also featured Joe Jackson in the outfield. Meixell was a couple years older than Joe.
In the minors he rarely played for the same team two years in a row. An exception was when he played for Columbus, NE for two years in the Nebraska State League in 1910-11. He led the team with a .315 batting average in 1911 (another source claims it was .324).
