Formerly a two year school. Was named Mount Allen Junior College from 1951 to 1956, Mount Olive Junior College from 1956-1970, and Mount Olive College from 1970 to present. In 1986, the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools officially accredited Mount Olive College as a four-year institution to award associate and baccalaureate degrees.
