In 1950 the Moultrie, GA team in the Georgia-Florida League switched affiliations from the Philadelphia A's to the Chicago Cubs and as a result changed names from the Moultrie A's to Moultrie Cubs. Steven Collins managed the team until May 15 when James Trew took over. The Cubs went 71-69-1, fifth in the Georgia-Florida. They finished second in runs (906) but third in runs allowed (884). The club was led by a trio of outfielders - Harold Ivy (.318/~.464/.479) led the league with 131 RBI, Charles Perchak hit .289/~.448/.424 and led the league with 142 walks and player-manager Trew hit .338/~.453/.423. The Cubs cut ties with the club, which became the Moultrie To-baks in 1951.
