Mose Solomon (sometimes known as Moe) hit .375 in 8 at-bats with the 1923 New York Giants. Playing across town from the Yankees and Babe Ruth, he was nicknamed "The Rabbi of Swat".
In 1923 Solomon had set a minor league record with 49 home runs for the Hutchinson Wheat Shockers with a .421 average. This broke Perry Werden's record of 45 set in 1895. Solomon hit a grand total of 78 homers in his nine year pro career.
