Morris Nettles played two seasons in the major leagues, getting 469 at-bats. In that time he scored 77 runs, partly on the strength of 42 stolen bases.
On Opening Day 1975, he batted lead-off, ahead of # 2 hitter Mickey Rivers. Nolan Ryan was the pitcher.
His minor league career ran from 1970-76. He hit .369 for Idaho Falls in 1970, .338 for Shreveport in 1971, .332 for El Paso in 1973, and .328 for Salt Lake City in 1974. He appeared for the Toledo Mud Hens and for Iowa in 1976.
