No major leaguer has come out of Morris Brown College, but several Negro Leaguers went here, including Bubba Hyde and Tom Johnson.

In 2002, the school's baseball team was a Division-I Independent, but the school was hit hard by a scandal involving the school president and the financial aid director. The school lost its accreditation from the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools and dropped from 2,500 students to less than 100.
