[edit] Team History

The Mobile BayBears began play in the Southern League in 1997 (when the Port City Roosters moved to Mobile, AL). They became an Arizona Diamondbacks affiliate following the 2006 season after previously having been a farm team of the San Diego Padres for their entire existence. Their home ballpark is Hank Aaron Stadium. The BayBears won the Southern League title in 1998.
