Minimum Salary
From BR Bullpen
The lowest salary a player can be paid for a full season, as defined by the collective bargaining agreement. In the 2002 collective bargaining agreement, the minimum MLB salary was raised by 50% to $300,000. This figure is 2913% higher than a full-time salary based on the U.S. federal minimum wage, but still a pittance compared to the average MLB salary, which was $2.3 million in 2004.
