Ming-Hsien Lin has played outfield for the Brother Elephants for a decade.
Lin represented Taiwan in the 1998 Baseball World Cup, hitting .286/.333/.286 as a backup corner outfielder and pinch-hitter. He was drafted by the Brother Elephants in 1999 and debuted with them that year, hitting .282/.363/.384 and stole 19 bases in 21 tries. In 2000, he hit .282/.360/.314 with 19 bases in 26 attempts. He made the Best Ten as one of the top three outfielders in the league.
Lin's batting line in 2001 was .305/.361/.446. He finished 3rd in the Chinese Professional Baseball League in average, behind Min-Ching Luo and Sung-Hsien Yang. He again made the Best Ten. In 2002, he hit .261/.331/.375. He followed with a .273/.337/.360 rate in '03. He hit .250/.324/.322 with 17 steals in 26 tries. He was 1 for 4 in 2005, missing most of the season due to ligament injury.
In 2006, Ming-Hsien hit .348/.348/.391 in 11 games while still rehabbing. He was back to regular action in '07 and batted .322/.389/.385. Lin slumped to .203/.292/.216 in 2008 with 8 steals in 9 attempts.
Through 2008, Lin has hit .275/.347/.362 in 601 games with 98 steals in 138 tries. Lin fractured his right knee in a spring training session in 2009 and required surgery.
