Min-ho Kang (강민호)

Kang debuted with Lotte in 2004 and went 0 for 5 with 3 strikeouts. In 2005, the 19-year-old hit .243/~.267/.341 in 104 games. As the starter in 2006, he batted .251/~.309/.366. He played for South Korea in the 2006 Asian Games. In 2007, he improved to a batting line of .271/~.337/.421 with 14 home runs. He has continued to progress in 2008, hitting .292/.365/.485 with 19 homers and 82 RBI, 6th in the KBO in runs batted in and 8th in slugging. He won a Gold Glove as the best overall catcher in the Korea Baseball Organization.
He was put on South Korea's Olympic team and supplanted Kab-yong Jin as the starter. Kang hit .273/.304/.364 as Korea won Gold in the 2008 Olympics. He singled home Yong-kyu Lee with the winner against Taiwan.
In the 2009 World Baseball Classic, Kang was 0 for 4 with two walks and a run as the backup to old-timer Kyung-wan Park for the 2nd-place Korean team. In the bottom of the 10th of the Gold Medal game, he drew a leadoff walk from Yu Darvish but was stranded.
