[edit] Biographical Information

In his first year of pro ball, Ramirez led Appalachian League second baseman in assists, putouts, and errors. He then repeated the feat at shortstop in the Northern League in 1969. He was then drafted by the St. Louis Cardinals in the Rule V Draft.
