Million Dollar Infield
From BR Bullpen
The Million Dollar Infield of the Newark Eagles in the late 1930s brought back the name of the $100,000 infield of the 1910s Philadelphia A's. The Million-Dollar Infield consisted of three Hall-of-Famers compared to the two for the $100,000 version. All-time Negro League home run king Mule Suttles manned first base, Willie Wells played short and Ray Dandridge was at third. The weak link was defensive superstar and lightweight offensive player Dick Seay at second base.
