McNally worked for many years for the Cleveland Indians as a scout and farm club official. He was the farm director for the Indians from 1952 to 1959, then returned to scouting.

- Won three World Series with the Boston Red Sox (1915 & 1916; he did not play in the 1915 World Series) and the New York Yankees (1923; he did not play in the World Series)
