Biographical Information[edit]

In 2003, pitching for the Detroit Tigers, Mike Maroth became the first pitcher in over 20 years to lose 20 games in a season. Brian Kingman had been the last holder of that distinction, back in 1980

Maroth turned to coaching as pitching coach of the Lakeland Flying Tigers in 2012-2014 and Toledo Mud Hens in 2015.
