 Biographical Information
In one of the stranger deals in baseball history, Mike Kekich and Fritz Peterson swapped wives, children, and dogs during the winter of 1972-73. Kekich never married the former Mrs. Peterson but Peterson did marry Susanne Kekich and they had four children of their own. They are still married today.
Kekich made his debut with the 1965 Los Angeles Dodgers who won the 1965 World Series. Kekich, who did not appear in the Series, was 20 at the time, one year younger than Bill Singer. Kekich was not the youngest player on the team, however, since 18-year-old Willie Crawford was also on the team.
He finished his major league career in the inaugural season of the 1977 Seattle Mariners. On a team which lost 98 games, his 5-4 record was one of the few winning records on the staff.
