- Led the Pirates in pinch hits in 1986 with 11. He knocked in 10 pinch hit runs that year too.
- As a rookie in 1986, he hit one home run every 17.6 at-bats-4th best in the league. His 12 home runs was second best by all rookies that year.
- Was a Pacific Coast League All-Star in 1985.
