Brother of Tony Brewer, Mike Brewer, like his brother, played one season in the major leagues. Mike was a first-round pick in 1979 while Tony was signed as a free agent the same year. Tony came up in 1984 while Mike came up in 1986. Tony was 5' 11" while Mike was 6' 5".

Mike, who played right field, was the same age as Darryl Motley, the Royals' regular right fielder that year.

Mike, who attended Foothill College, had around 100 minor league home runs. Tony also attended Foothill.
