Mike Alvarez pitched in the Baltimore Orioles and Kansas City Royals chains from 1980 to 1986.
Alvarez has spent many years as a roving pitching instructor in the Atlanta Braves organization. He was a pitching coach for the Richmond Braves in 2005, Greenville Braves in 2008-2010, and Mississippi Braves in 2011-2012.
