Mike Romano threw the first postseason no-hitter in Mexican League history. On August 18, 2001, he tossed the gem for the Saltillo Saraperos against the Monterrey Sultans.
He was pitching for the Hiroshima Carp in 2005. He took emergency leave from the team on August 31 due to Hurricane Katrina. His wife and two kids evacuated the area safely, but his house was destroyed and his brother-in-law and his wife's uncle were missing. They were eventually located and no family were lost, though many of their belongings were lost.

He signed with the SK Wyverns for 2007.
