Catcher Mike Macfarlane was signed as a 4th round pick in the 1985 amateur draft by the Kansas City Royals and scout Chuck McMichael.
Moved into the starting lineup after an injury to Bob Boone in 1990, Macfarlane has caught more games than any other Royals player in history (through 2007).
