- Bats Right, Throws Right
- Height 6' 4", Weight 203 lb.
Lahera was unimpressive in his first three seasons, with a 6.60 ERA and 3-8 record. He made significant strides at age 21/22 in the 2006-2007 Serie Nacional, going 4-5 with a 3.28 ERA for La Habana. He was better for La Habana in 2007-2008, with a 6-3, 2.72 record and 55 strikeouts in 56 1/3 IP. Given his progress, he was added to the Cuban roster for the 2008 Haarlem Baseball Week. In that event, he allowed 5 hits in 3 innings but only one run and saved one win. Lahera was then a late addition to the Cuban team for the 2008 Olympics, replacing Yuniesky Maya in the bullpen.
In the Olympics, Lahera was Cuba's least-used hurler, allowing one hit, two walks and one run in three innings while striking out two in two games. He was with Cuba in the 2009 World Baseball Classic, again being the least-used Cuban pitcher. He walked two batters and retired two batters.
