From 1994 to 1999, Billmeyer was a coach in the Angels' organization as bullpen/workout coordinator. From 2000 to 2003 he was the Philadelphia Phillies minor league catching coordinator. from 2004 to 2013, he was a member of the Phillies' big league coaching staff as the club's catching instructor and bullpen coach. In 2010, the Colorado Rockies formally complained to Major League Baseball that Billmeyer had been using binoculars to steal signs from the center field bullpen at Coors Field in a game on May 10th.
