The college changed its name to Miami Dade College from Miami-Dade Community College in 2003.
The college has various campuses including Hialeah, Homestead, InterAmerican, Kendall, Medical Center, North, South, West, and Wolfson. The North, South, and Wolfson campuses all fielded teams into the 90s, but budget cuts forced the school to go down to one team in 1998.
