The Medicine Hat A's were an Oakland A's affiliate in the Pioneer League for just one season, 1977. They went 29-41 and finished in fifth place out of sixth clubs for manager Juan Gomez. Outfielder Jim Bennett was the team's lone All-Star. The following year the Medicine Hat Blue Jays began play and represented Medicine Hat in the Pioneer League for a quarter century.
