McClymonds High School
From BR Bullpen
McClymonds High on the west side of Oakland produced Hall of Famer Frank Robinson and pioneer Curt Flood. Basketball Hall of Famer Bill Russell was also at McClymonds at the same time as Robinson.
Aaron Pointer, the last professional ballplayer to hit .400 and a brother of The Pointer Sisters as well as a long-time NFL head linesman, also went to "Big Mack", as it was sometimes called.
Vada Pinson, Lee Lacy and Joe Abreu and Charlie Beamon went to McClymonds too.
