Matthew Edward Vasgersian
Matt Vasgersian is an announcer. He started off announcing minor league games, first with the Huntington Cubs in 1991, then moved up to the High Desert Mavericks and Tucson Toros. He worked both the 1995 AAA All-Star Game and 1996 AAA All-Star Game.
From 1997-2001, he was a play-by-play announcer for the Milwaukee Brewers. He held the same role from 2002-2008 with the San Diego Padres. He then moved on to the MLB Network, including Hot Stove, starting when the network went on air on January 1, 2009.
After calling various regular season and postseason baseball telecasts for FOX Sports, he became the main announcer for its Saturday "Game of the Week" in 2014, paired with former pitcher John Smoltz.
He has also been an announcer for NFL games and college football bowl games for FOX, and has covered the Olympics, starting with baseball coverage at the 2004 Olympics in Athens, Greece. He has also hosted several other sports=themed television shows.
