Mary Crews Nesbitt

Marie Nesbitt began playing in the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League in its inaugural season. With the Racine Belles that year, she went 26-13 on the mound. After breaking her collarbone in 1945, she was moved to first base and responded by hitting .319 that year to tie Helen Callaghan for the league lead.

Nesbitt did not play in 1946 but returned in 1947 with the Peoria Redwings. The next year, she paced the circuit with 24 doubles.

She retired after the 1950 season, following the birth of her first son.
