Peasley was obtained from the Woodstock, NB team and was scouted by Malachi Kittridge. According to Wild Bill Donovan, as quoted in the 02-Apr-1911 Macon (GA) Telegraph, after the 1910 season Peasley "went up into the woods as soon as the snow fell and worked with an axe all winter." The winter-long workout "tied him up so tight he can hardly throw a ball and may never amount to anything as a pitcher again."
The 11-May-1911 Flint Journal mentions a brief stop in Fort Worth at the start of the 1911 season and a tryout with Saginaw in May of that year.
