Marty Scott was the manager for Team USA at the 2003 Baseball World Cup and the United States women's national baseball team at the 2004 Women's Baseball World Cup.
He was selected by the Texas Rangers in the 1977 amateur draft. He played in the Rangers minor league system from 1979 to 1981, reaching as high as AAA.
Scott managed in the Texas Rangers' chain in 1982-1984, then becmae the team's Director of Player Development from 1984 to 1994. He then managed the St. Paul Saints from 1995 to 2000 and the Fort Worth Cats of the Central Baseball League for part of the 2002 season.
In 2008, he was hired to manage the GCL Mets but was suddenly promoted on June 17 to manager of the AAA New Orleans Zephyrs when Ken Oberkfell was named coach by the parent New York Mets.
