Biographical Information[edit]

Mark Carreon was signed as an 8th round pick in the 1981 amateur draft by the New York Mets and scout Roger Jongewaard. While his career was certainly not award-winning, Carreon can always say that he was drafted 14 picks ahead of a young high school prospect, Mark McGwire.

He had a career .280 batting average as a pinch hitter, prior to 1995.

He was the South Atlantic League runs scored leader in 1982.

He is the son of Cam Carreon.
