As a scout for the San Diego Padres in the early 1990's, Mark Wasinger was resposible for signing such players as Brian Lawrence, Jake Peavy, Ben Howard, and Jake Gautreau. As of 2006, he was a regional crosschecker for the Boston Red Sox. He is still scouting for the Red Sox as of 2011.
