Mark McGrillis played one game in the major leagues in 1892. Afterwards, he attended the University of Pennsylvania and played on their college team.
Will Thompson, another University of Pennsylvania product, also played one game in the majors in 1892 as his whole career, and like McGrillis, his time at Penn came after, not before, his time in the majors.
