In 1989, Mario Guerrero played for the Winter Haven Super Sox of the Senior Professional Baseball Association. Guerrero hit .315 in 15 games.
His brother Epy Guerrero was a coach and longtime scout for the Toronto Blue Jays. His nephews Epy Guerrero Jr. and Mike Guerrero played in the minor leagues.
