Marcus Lawton is the brother of Matt Lawton. He was selected by the New York Mets in the 6th Round of the 1983 amateur draft. In 1985, while with the Columbia Mets, he led the South Atlantic League and all of minor league baseball with 109 stolen bases. He was caught only 7 times.
