Marcus Hanel is a bullpen catcher for the Milwaukee Brewers.

Prior to his current position, Hanel played in the minor leagues from 1989 to 2009 for the Pittsburgh Pirates (1989-1997), Atlanta Braves (1998) and Arizona Diamondbacks (1999) systems. He played in 658 games, hitting .193 with 21 home runs and 171 RBI in 2,060 at-bats.

He was originally drafted by the Pirates in the 18th round of the 1989 amateur draft. He was signed by scout Bill Bryk.
