[edit] Biographical Information

On September 22, 2006, the Oakland Athletics and Los Angeles Angels were locked in a pennant race. The game that day ran to the 12th inning, and when the Athletics in the bottom of the inning got a man on third base with one out, the Angels brought in Chone Figgins from the outfield to play as a fifth infielder, to try to prevent Marco Scútaro from getting the man home. The count ran to 0-2, but he hit the ball into the outfield, scoring the run. It was his eight time through 2006 that he had the game-ending at-bat.

He is playing in the Venezuelan Winter League, and as of November 17, 2006, was hitting .400 for the Leones de Caracas. His nickname is "Senor Clutch".
