Marco Antonio Vázquez pitched in the minors for six years and later managed.

Vázquez debuted in 1980 with the Reynosa Broncos, allowing three runs in two innings before the strike and going 1-1 with a 1.64 ERA in five games (one start) after it. In 1981, he had a 1-2, 3.25 record with two saves in 26 outings for the Mexico City Red Devils. Moving to the Indios de Ciudad Juarez in 1982, he fell to 1-5, 4.66 with two saves, walking 45 in 63 2/3 IP. He split 1983 between two teams and was 4-5 with a 4.37 ERA. He missed 1984. With the Veracruz Eagle and Cafeteros de Cordoba in 1985, he went 9-7 with a 3.85 ERA in 26 starts, the season he saw the most work. He bounced between three clubs in '86, going 1-7 with a 7.88 ERA in 13 starts, walking 28 and allowing 48 hits in 40 innings. He was 17-27 with four saves and a 4.27 ERA in 107 games (59 starts) in the Mexican League. In 394 innings, he allowed 208 walks and 432 hits while striking out 196.

Vázquez managed the Algodoneros de Torreon from 1989-1991, going 201-176. He began 1992 in the same role before being replaced by Dave Stockstill. He also managed the Mexico City Red Devils at one point, the Plataneros de Tabasco for part of 2002 and the Oaxaca Warriors for the first 27 games (11-16) of 2011.
