[edit] Biographical Information
Lynn Nelson played for manager Joe McCarthy's Chicago Cubs in 1930, but McCarthy sent him packing. He got even with his former manager in 1937 by beating the Yanks for one of his four wins. Lynn also wrestled under the name the "Masked Marvel" in the North Dakota area. Connie Mack signed him for the Philadelphia A's on the recommendation of pitcher Harry Kelley. The 1938 Who's Who in The Major Leagues by John P. Carmichael said, "In addition to his hurling, Nelsom blossomed forth as a pinch hitter, knocking in 29 runs in 74 games at the most opportune moments."
