In 2000, Luis de los Santos set a Mexican League record by hitting in 36 straight games, breaking the mark held for 52 years by Roberto Ortiz.
de los Santos never hit a major league home run.
He also played in Taiwan and set a hitting streak record for foreign players in 1996, with 22 games. The mark was broken 12 years later by Gary Burnham.
