[edit] Biographical Information

Luis Suarez, a member of the Cuban Baseball Hall of Fame, played one single game in the major leagues. He appeared in 1944 with the Washington Senators.

In the 1942 Amateur World Series, Suarez had gone 11 for 19 to lead the Cuban national team with a .579 average. Amazingly, Suarez was not a regular starter and thus did not qualify for the Series lead in average. In the 1943 Amateur World Series, Suarez again helped Cuba win Gold, batting .354; he led the Series in RBI (9) and hits (17) and tied for the most triples (2).

He was a member of the 1947 Havana Cubans, one of the great minor league teams.
