The brother of big league player and manager Eddie Haas, infielder Lou Haas played four years of minor league ball in the Milwaukee Braves organization.

In addition to his brother, his cousins Phil Roof and Gene Roof played in the majors. Additionally, cousins David Roof, Adrian Roof, and Paul Roof played minor league ball.
