Loras College was founded in 1839 and has functioned under several names such as St. Raphael Seminary, Mt. St. Bernard, St. Joseph College (when Red Faber attended), Dubuque College and Columbia College, finally adopting its present name during its centennial in 1939. Frank Quilici went here since it became Loras.
