The Long Beach Armada, based in Long Beach, CA, played in the Golden Baseball League from 2005 to 2009. To poke fun at the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, the Armada changed their name in 2007 to the Long Beach Armada of Los Angeles of California of the United States of North America Including Barrow, Alaska. They were disolved after the 2009 season because of a dispute with the city over the use of their ballpark, but are scheduled to return to action as part of the North American League in 2012.
- Notable: The roster included two left handed pitchers who had reached the major leagues: Adam Pettyjohn and Alan Newman. In 2008, the team fielded five former 1st-round draft picks: Jerome Williams, Nick Bierbrodt, Seth Etherton, Tony Torcato and David Parrish, as well as Cleatus Davidson and Steve Smyth who also spent time in the major leagues. For the 2009 season, the Armada signed former Major Leaguers Jose Lima and Hideki Irabu to pitch for Long Beach.
