Lon Joyce went 473-170 as head coach of Spartanburg Methodist College from 1978-1991. Among the major leaguers he produced were Reggie Sanders and Dwight Smith. He then became a Los Angeles Dodgers scout in 1992. He signed Luke Allen, Reggie Abercrombie, Jonathan Broxton, Edwin Jackson, Jake Lemmerman, Ethan Martin, Adam Riggs and Jerry Sands.
